Event Highlights

Alabama Retailer of the Year
The Alabama Retail Association, in conjunction with the University of Alabama at Birmingham, sponsors the Retailer of the Year program. The awards made in categories based on annual sales volume are presented during Retail Day in late September.
 
Retail Day
The Alabama Retail Association is a host for Retail Day, which was created by the University of Alabama at Birmingham's School of Business Marketing and Industrial Distribution program to inform students of the diverse career opportunities offered in retailing. The event is in late September.
 
Law Enforcement Officer of the Year Award Ceremony
The Alabama Retail Association accepts nominations each year to recognize one of Alabama’s outstanding law enforcement officers who do so much to assist retailers throughout the year. The Annual LEO Award is presented each November during the ARA board of trustees and ARC board of trustees annual meeting.
 
Examiner of the Year Award Ceremony
The Alabama Retail Association and the Department of Public Safety award driver license examiners who go the extra mile to detect identity theft and arrest those who utilize fraudulent forms of identification, such as driver licenses, Social Security cards and INS cards. This award is given quarterly, with a cumulative yearly winner recognized in the spring.
 
ARA Board of Directors' Congressional Trip
Periodically, the Alabama Retail Association board of directors travels to Washington, D.C., to visit with Alabama’s congressional delegation and to be briefed on national issues of importance to retailers.
