Unemployment Comp Taxes Due May 1

Increases Range from $104 to $152 Per Employee

Unemployment compensation tax bills contain triple the shared costs of last year. The tax rates per employee range from $172 to $664. The rate increases range from 30 percent to 169 percent. State law requires an automatic rate increase when the Unemployment Compensation Trust Fund dips beyond a certain point. High unemployment has strained the Trust Fund, pushing employers into the highest rate schedule possible. The comparison link below will give you a better idea about the increase for your business. The taxes are due May 1. The read more link takes you to a recent news story about the tax bills.
